Fracture Critical Component with Full Penetration Welding
This is a precision-machined component with full penetration welding qualified with AISC bridge code and equivalent fracture critical material requirements (A709 GR50, Zone 1) and handling endorsement. This component gets packaged with guide beams and switches for Bombardier Transportation’s Automated People Mover (APM) system.
Integration of Precision Machined Components
In this picture, you will find the integration of precision machined components such as the tapered, heat-treated lock pin inserted into a precision bore for a Teflon coated axial bushing. This assembly locks the rotating switch beam in place for the APM direction of in-bound and out-bound travel.
Complete Switch Kit for LAX
In this 3 ton complete switch kit, we manufactured 175 individual part numbers and procured an additional 79 items (bearings, switches, motors, actuators and other moving parts) to create 13 turnkey assemblies. We crated them for presentation to the construction site at LAX.
